What is included for $80

Up to 5 litres of full synthetic oil, a new oil filter, drain plug gasket where required, fluid top-up (washer, coolant, power steering, brake), tire pressure check, and a visual inspection of belts, hoses, brakes and lights. If we spot something that needs attention we tell you, and you decide. Vehicles that take more than 5 litres or a specialty filter may cost a little more; we confirm before we start.

Why full synthetic

Full synthetic oil resists breakdown at high temperatures, flows better on cold Toronto mornings, and protects turbocharged and direct-injection engines that conventional oil cannot. Most modern cars run 8,000 to 12,000 km between synthetic changes, so you change oil less often and pay less per kilometre than with conventional oil every 5,000 km.

How often should you change your oil?

Check your owner's manual first. As a rule, full synthetic every 8,000 to 10,000 km or once a year, whichever comes first. Change it sooner if you do a lot of short trips, idle in traffic, tow, or drive in extreme heat or cold. If your oil life monitor is on, or the oil looks dark and gritty on the dipstick, come in.
