Brake Repair & Replacement in North York

Grinding, squealing, a soft pedal or a car that pulls to one side when you brake are all signs to get your brakes checked now, not next month. 647 Auto Repair at 12 Lepage Court in North York inspects, repairs and replaces brakes on all makes and models, with a written quote before any work starts.

Signs you need brake service

A high-pitched squeal when braking usually means the pad wear indicator is touching the rotor. Grinding means the pads are gone and metal is on metal. A pulsing pedal points to warped rotors. A soft or sinking pedal can mean air or moisture in the brake fluid, or a leak. A brake warning light or a car that pulls to one side should be looked at the same day.

What we do

Brake pad replacement, front and rear. Rotor resurfacing or replacement. Caliper repair and replacement. Brake fluid flush and bleed. Brake line and hose repair. ABS diagnostics and sensor replacement. Parking brake adjustment. We use quality OEM-equivalent parts and can source OEM parts on request.

How brake pricing works

Brake cost depends entirely on what is worn. Pads only, pads and rotors, or caliper and line work are three very different jobs, and parts prices vary by vehicle. That is why we do not quote brake jobs over the phone. Bring the car in, we inspect all four corners, show you the actual measurements, and give you a written quote. You decide before we touch anything.

Same-day brake repair

Most pad and rotor jobs are done the same day. If a part has to be ordered we tell you up front and give you a realistic pickup time. Nothing proceeds without your approval, and you will never be charged for work you did not authorize.

How often should brakes be checked?

We recommend a brake inspection every 20,000 km or once a year, and any time you notice a change in braking feel or sound. Pads typically last 40,000 to 80,000 km depending on driving habits, but Toronto stop-and-go traffic wears them faster.

Call 437-255-8280 or drop by Mon to Fri 8 to 6, Sat 9 to 3, for a free brake inspection.
